Three Easy Meditation Techniques for Working Professionals: Beginner
Are you an aware individual that recognises the need for meditation in life? Have you tried all possible techniques but cannot stick to one to see your spiritual growth? Do you know that meditation is essential every day, but can’t find a technique that syncs? Are you always missing out on making time for your meditation practice? Well, we have all been there haven’t we – trying to make the most of time in our busy lives!
First of all, you don’t have to meditate for hours, or do it at the same time every day, or do the same technique every time – there is no rule or structure to meditation, when you start – it only needs your will and agreement to welcoming it in your life. And initially, it will be difficult to sit down at the same hour, or even sit cross legged, or just follow the visualization – and that is absolutely okay! Remember, learning a cycle also took time.
Just like we invest in learning a skill, before you start meditation, remember to set your intention and tell yourself that you are ready. And that no matter when you make the time, or even if you skip it one day, when you do it and for how long, you will immerse into it completely and give your 100% in that moment.
So before we get into some simple techniques, let us try to understand what meditation really means – it means being aware of your thoughts and actions, and letting light flow through you. When you meditate, you slow down your thoughts and increase focus, and thus awareness to observe what is happening. And when you start observing you start getting in control of your thoughts and actions – let’s just keep it that simple for now.
People think that meditation means unlocking some supernatural visions, and alien powers – but we are humans after all, so to reach any higher powers (if we do) is to smoothen the human faculties we have – meditation is the soothe the humanness in us.
Technique #1
Set a timer for 5 minutes, anywhere, anytime – you can sit quietly, without being disturbed – be it in the car, your bed, or in the balcony. Do this three times - Breathe in for 5 seconds, breathe out for 7 seconds. Just feel your breath going in, filling your abdomen, and the way it goes out your nose. Then start the timer, and imagine yourself breathing into your heart, and breathing out from your heart. That all.
Once you master this, increase the timer to 7,8, 10 minutes as you wish. What this does is, just builds your focus – when any thought enters your mind, you just see it, let is pass. Just taking charge of your breath, is unlocking the initial step of concentration for you, and then you will notice, that finding the time becomes easier over a few weeks.
Any great teacher will tell you, that I do not teach you, I only guide you, but it is you that has the intention, the passion, and the solution within you. Together, we co-create this and meet in the middle.
Which means, that no course, guided meditation, healing, tutor can activate something inside you from the outside – it’s you who are preparing your heart to reach out to the information outside, decide whether it agrees with you, and practice it to activate what already exists inside of you.
And that is why – everyone can choose the technique that resonates with them the most.
Technique #2
Set a timer for 6 mins. Breathe in 5 seconds, breathe out 7 seconds – do this three times to center yourself. Then imagine your heart chakra radiating love energy, like a big torch lit up in the center of your chest. Give your body this love, starting from your head, face, shoulders, every organ that you can name, fill it with this love, down to your legs – while doing this just say thank you, I love you, for supporting my journey.
That’s all, give yourself love and gratitude. You can say mentally to yourself, that you do it for every limb, every cell, my eyes – and name the organs that you are sending this love torch too.
When you start giving gratitude and love to this vehicle, it automatically radiates love and attracts with that high energy. You will notice that we think that gratitude is what we have only externally, but inside your body is working miracles. When you start this technique, you will start appreciating your faculties more, thus, helping you attract more fulfilling experiences.
Technique #3
Any guided meditation is great for beginners – and helps in the initial journey of setting the tone for what lies ahead. When you find the quiet space, and time – just set the intention that when I search for a small, guided meditation, the Universe sends me the one that I need the most with complete faith. Open YT, search, and pick one of the any top three that have come on your feed. Just follow along. Even if it’s a new one every day, or its listening to a channeled message, you never know it might be just the right thing for you.
We haven’t yet achieved the greatness of being still for hours, it will come too, maybe in time, but till then practicing what we can, and doing that every day, gradually builds and calibrates your body for living a fulfilling reality.
