Spiritual Awakening is not always Renunciation : Being the true Awakened
Being a spiritual person may not always mean you meditate everyday, or do certain yogic practices. In today's world, spirituality means immense confidence in yourself. As a spiritual seeker for over 20 years now, I have consumed every possible content related to spirituality, I must have read zillions of books, and enrolled in dozens of courses - and each time I am into the process of unlocking some new knowledge, the novelty wears off just as quickly as the excitement of starting something new. I think there are many around us, and might be you too who feel the same.
We know there is an innate calling inside us, that we are meant for something bigger. That our contribution to the world needs to be larger, and that we too are beacons of hope for many. We are empathetic and see the troubles the world is going through, and have a strong pull to be able to do something. But this remains only a burning desire, without any action. I felt that to fuel this desire I need to gather as much information to be able to put of things on this blog with conviction. I felt just one more course before I can publish my writing - and I realised that in the hope of becoming the learned, perfect person, I have completely shut off my inner voice. Of all the courses if I have to sum up one single thought that drives us - is what we speak to ourselves. That no matter which technique or method you do, at the end what matters in your inner voice, and knowing yourself.
You see the beauty of spirituality is not outside, but the more centred and aware you become on the inside, that builds confidence and faith in oneself. So I sat here finishing yet another course on spiritual success, and yet again I found similarities in what the course taught - its like I was beginning to see the single thread that connects everything in these courses. The names, jargons and terms may be different, but all point to the inner light of desire. And it may seem complicated, but if we can answer a simple question, we are halfway there.
What is that I want? What is that I love to do? What makes me happy?
If you sit down with a pen and paper, it may still take you a couple of attempts to get to answer this about yourself. You see we know so much of theory, that we have not yet mastered the art of the practice. And what is spiritual awakening, if you cannot practice it in real life. And this then creates the discomfort, the longing of something better being out there, the disconnection of not being able to do what you want - then we label our responsibilities and roles, and bring ourself back into the comfort of the knowingness.
But you can be both spiritually awakened and successful - now the parameters of success is what you have to decide - and it can stem from desires, but what matters is that we can take complete advantage of the human faculties that we have. And material wealth is also a part of abundance, along with health, relationships, and emotions - I believe that if we are born as a human, and have access to this spiritual information, then we truly are called to expand our opportunities - to become an example of the non-conventional - to be able to live life the fullest, while being a good person. To be that mobiliser in the daily rut, where people dont even know what awareness is.
Being a spiritual guru, today means being an example for others to follow - sometimes your act itself becomes an inspiration to others. But if we keep holding on to all the knowledge without applying it, we are still going to attract the same limited reality. So, start today by truly unwrapping yourself, by releasing all that hurt, by realising who you truly are, and what you truly like to do - without any judgement. And the more you embrace your true self, the more the spiritual practice will bloom - Because you see, it is all but co-creation - and that is why they call us creators, because we co-create with the Universe.
If we only ask, and not become - the manifestation will never work. But if we embody what we truly are, we are becoming a magnet in attracting only those things. Do you have the confidence to attract what you truly desire? And do you have the self-worth to embrace the discomfort that comes with change in reality?
Bravery starts with acceptance, and so does spiritual growth. You see, your life is a reflection of what you are - so if you wish to change your life, you must change yourself.
